Norbain stocks TOCAaccess
light range of fingerprint readers from TriFusion 12
September 2005 - Norbain SD, the UK’s largest distributor of
electronic security solutions, has extended its biometric range
of products with the addition of the TOCAaccess light range of
fingerprint readers from TriFusion. TOCAaccess light is a
standalone fingerprint reader that has been developed for
domestic users and small to medium sized companies. TOCAaccess
light stores 99 fingerprints and can be used outdoors and
indoors.
Shamash Merali, TriFusion’s Operations Director, explains
that TOCAaccess light removes the need for users to look after
keys, passwords, PIN codes or cards: “TOCAaccess light is both
more secure and easier to use compared with key security or
traditional access control systems. With nothing for users to
lose or forget the system cannot be compromised because a key,
password or card has been stolen. For the same reason TOCAaccess
light is also considerably easier to manage and maintain than
traditional access control systems. With no access mechanism to
be issued, adding new users take seconds".
“We are delighted that the industry’s leading distributor has
recognized the potential demand that exists for TOCAaccess light
within both the domestic and small to medium sized commercial
sector.”
Anne Bowden, Norbain’s Business Development Manager for
Access Control, explains that Norbain has been looking for a
cost effective standalone biometric product to meet customer
demand:
“TOCAaccess light opens up an area of the market that Norbain
hasn’t been able to serve to date. Its affordability means that
there is now a range of applications that can now consider a
biometric solution that previously would have turned to a
proximity-based solution. As fingerprint scanning is the largest
and fastest growing part of the biometric market it is becoming
a key area of growth for Norbain.”
TOCAaccess light consists of a control panel used to enrol
and delete users and a scanner unit used to scan the finger and
encode it. The product is available in three models depending on
how many dry contact relays are required. TOCAaccess light
offers one relay, TOCAaccess light+ offers three relays, and
TOCAaccess light+ Interface includes a USB interface and PC
software. The contact relays may be connected to any electrical
device such as a digital cylinder, electric strike, electro
magnet or alarm.
To use TOCAaccess light, the authorised user simply swipes
their finger on the scanner. Provided that the finger has been
registered in the system the door will open automatically.
TOCAaccess light is ideal for domestic use and company locations
with up to 99 authorised users. Technical Specifications
